Central Valley Fuego FC needed two wins to advance to the playoffs, and their September 21 game against Forward Madison FC, from Madison, Wisconsin, was the first of the two. On a (relatively) cool evening at the Fresno State soccer field, Fuego FC took Madison down three to nothing. Madison was a rowdy team and received two red cards, meaning two of their players were kicked off the field for egregious behavior, and the team had to play with nine men. Morale was high among the Fuego supporters.
