Peace Fresno organizers wanted to hold a march on the sidewalk from Roosevelt High school to the Fairgrounds just prior to the March 21 Peace Festival. They were told by the City of Fresno that 41 or more people walking or assembling on a public sidewalk costs $378 and proof of insurance for up to $6 million dollars, must be submitted at least 30 days in advance, and the walk must be only on a “free speech route” that Jerry Dyer personally allows. We were told that even if they met all of those requirements, the City of Fresno could still deny the permit and not refund the $328.
