Climate Change – Special Section

Climate Change – Special Section

The Community Alliance newspaper will print a special section on climate change in April 2021.  Climate activist Kevin Hall is putting together articles, photos and other illustrations because, he says “status quo politics will no longer suffice, we have a very deep track record of moderate Dems prioritizing oil and methane extractors above the health of their constituents.”  According to Hall “we are out of time” and that it would take “15% annual cuts worldwide through 2030” to avert catastrophe.

The articles will be from environmental justice activists, there will be criticism of local politicians for taking money from the petroleum industry and the special section will be controversial.  The goal is to provide a path forward, nudge elected officials in the right direction and create a better world for us all.

The Community Alliance has reached out to elected officials and solicited their contribution about what they are doing to address the climate change controversy.  An example of that is Fresno City Council member Tyler Maxwell’s successful initiative to make all bus rides in Fresno free – less cars on the road equals better air quality.

Climate change is a huge challenge and we are honored to provide a space where we can have a dialog about what can be done, right here in our community, to improve the world we live in.

If you support informing readers about the climate change crisis and believe in the power of an independent press, we encourage you to help us get the April issue into the hands of more readers.  We are printing extra pages to accommodate this special section and will distribute thousands of extra papers.

For this special section to be a success we need your financial support. Sending us a donation, renewing your subscription, becoming a monthly contributor, or increasing your monthly pledge will insure this essential content on climate change is read by as many people as possible and will make it possible for us to print more special sections in the future.  You can contribute online by going here: https://fresnoalliance.com/subscribe/ or send a check to the Community Alliance, P O Box 5077, Fresno Ca 93755.
