Marisabel Torres is director of California policy at the Center for Responsible Lending, a research and policy nonprofit dedicated to protecting homeownership and family wealth by working to eliminate abusive financial practices. She has served as an expert witness on consumer finance issues before Congress and the California state legislature. Although based in Oakland, she previously lived in Los Angeles and is a Dodgers fan.
