A volunteer with Hands On Central California helps out with boxes of green beans at a food giveaway at the Hmong Alliance Church of Fresno on May 29. One thousand bags of groceries were being distributed. The plan was to help consumers with food, buy up crops that might otherwise spoil, and rebuild and modernize supply chains disrupted by Covid-19. About $600,000 was raised to make the program work, monies coming from the CARES Act and Fresno Farm Bridge.
