Fresno Unified School District (FUSD) and Fresno Teachers Association (FTA) have been bargaining their contract for over a year now. FTA is bargaining to bring about needed changes in Fresno Unified schools. Over the last 3 years, FTA’s Stand with Students campaign has worked to improve the quality of education for FUSD’s 74,000 students. The top priorities identified by the community are caps on class sizes, more social and emotional support for students, and safer schools. FTA is also asking for small raises and improved health benefits to recruit and retain teachers.
