Dolores Huerta Foundation – December 2020

Dolores Huerta Foundation is celebrating the 2020 Census and election victories. The Vecinos Unidos, DHF Youth, staff and volunteers expanded the organizing power of our communities to make real and lasting change. Vecinos and Youth helped identify families impacted by COVID-19 and assisted in the distribution of $250,000 in relief payments. They helped deliver 86,491 pounds of food, serving 3,518 families. DHF used these food bank events as opportunities to distribute information, register all eligible voters and encourage hard-to-count communities to complete the 2020 Census. Staff and volunteers contacted over 80,000 people to inform them of the importance of the 2020 Census. They also educated over 15,000 voters on the propositions via phone and text banking, hosted virtual candidate forums and organized communities in Kern, Tulare, Fresno and Northern Los Angeles counties to show up, take back their power, and actively defend our democracy.
