The Funeral Consumers Alliance of Central California (FCA-CC) will feature keynote speaker Ed Howard of San Diego University’s Center for Public Interest Law at the Annual Meeting of the California chapters of the FCA on Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the College Community Congregational Church (5550 N. Fresno St.). Howard will speak on SB 658, the legislation to require all funeral home businesses to post their prices on the Internet,

Founded in Fresno in 1962, the FCA is a nonprofit organization providing funeral consumer education to assure simplicity, dignity and fair charges for after-death services.

Known for the only funeral, cremation and burial services Price Comparison Chart in central California, the FCA-CC offers more than 30 brochures on subjects relating to funeral pre-planning, planning an Advance Health Care Directive, burial, cremation and all other end-of-life options and decisions. The FCA monitors the death services industry, protects families from funeral fraud and overspending, and advocates for fair charges for after-death services by protecting the rights of funeral consumers.
