Are you tired of Fresno and the Central Valley being run by right-wing politicians who do the bidding of the wealthy 1%? Are you frustrated by a corrupt political system that favors the rich and disfranchises the poor and working class? Do you think we need a change from business as usual?

If so, the CVPPAC is offering a training that will help bring the political revolution to Fresno.

We are going to show you how to build an effective and successful strategy to win political power by giving you the skills and knowledge to make you a more effective campaign volunteer. Electing progressive candidates will build the movement for social, economic and environmental justice.

Leading the workshop will be Vanessa Rhodes, who has more than a decade of organizing and training experience. She will show you how to participate in winning campaigns that will get progressives elected in this area.

In this workshop, we will investigate why it is important to run a ground campaign rather than running more radio and TV commercials. We will consider the impact of reaching out to infrequent voters rather than continuing to target areas north of Herndon Avenue. In addition, we will dissect an organizing script to understand the most effective way to win over voters.

Vanessa has worked in both nonprofits and the labor movement and has done direct campaign organizing. As a result of her success in the field, she has worked on management teams to develop, Click here for Gear Up application and execute countless campaigns.

Vanessa says she is conducting this workshop because she understands “Fresno politics are unique. In order to win, it is up to us to take some time to understand what leads campaigns in this area to succeed or fail. With a grasp on how local races work and campaign skills, we can shape politics for the betterment of our communities.”

This training workshop will take place on Saturday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tuolumne Hall (1445 Tuolumne St., Fresno).

The next Central Valley Progressive PAC meeting will be on Saturday, April 9, at 3:30 p.m. at the Fresno Center for Nonviolence, 1584 N. Van Ness Ave. For more information, call 559-994-9390.
