The Community Alliance is a monthly newspaper that has been published in Fresno, California, since 1996. The purpose of the newspaper is to help build a progressive movement for social and economic justice. This is done by supporting:

  • Immigrant rights
  • Workers being paid a living wage
  • Environmental justice
  • Police accountability
  • Universal healthcare for all
  • LGBTQ+ rights
  • Fully funded public schools

We oppose the right-wing agenda of deregulation, privatization, voter suppression and defunding social service programs.

It is responsible for all major decisions affecting the paper, personnel and significant financial issues. The board is legally obligated to meet once a year but meets more often as needed. The executive director and editor sometimes attend (but can’t vote at) these meetings.
