Saturday, February 4 • 1 p.m.
Interfaith Social Justice Collaborative (ISJC) monthly meeting at Little Leaf Tea, 6011 N. Palm Ave. You need not RSVP. Just come if you’d like to meet others engaged in faith-inspired social and environmental justice work. Our new meeting format enables individuals of different faith traditions to meet and exchange ideas, share event flyers and support each other’s efforts to create a healthier, more loving and compassionate world. Wednesday, February 8 • Noon & 7 p.m.
Israel vs. Israel will be shown at noon at the Fresno Center for Nonviolence, 1584 N. Van Ness Ave., and at 7 p.m. at the College Community Congregational Church, 5550 N. Fresno St. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.). Free and open to the public. Wheelchair accessible. The filmmaker, Terje Carlsson, will be present at both showings. Carlsson is a freelance journalist. Israel vs. Israel is a documentary about Jewish peace activists who face skepticism and criticism from their fellow Israeli citizens. For more info about the film, visit

Fresno Interfaith Scholar Weekend: “Saving Paradise in This World.” The Interfaith Scholar for 2012 will be Dr. Rita Nakashima Brock, founding director of Faith Voices for the Common Good. Cineculture presents Between Two Worlds at the Peter’s Education Center Auditorium at CSUF. Discussants: Filmmakers Alan Snitow and Deborah Kaufman. Between Two Worlds is a personal essay film telling five riveting stories that go beyond political postures to reveal the passionate debates over identity and generational change inside today’s American Jewish community. Snitow and Kaufman take us on a uniquely personal road trip that reframes intensely polarized debates over tradition and change, loyalty and dissent inside one American ethnic community.
